Skylanders SWAP Force

Prepare your wallets – this week marks the release of the third bank account depleting Skylanders title, Swap Force. Two Brothers

Robert’s Pick: I’m a bit torn this week. As much as I like Skylanders’ collectibles (and now interchangeable at the midsection) figurines and Diablo-lite play mechanics, I’m also really eager for Telltales’ The Wolf Among Us. Although I haven’t been acquainted with Bill Willingham’s DC/Vertigo comic, I am intrigued by a bleak, pulpy reimaging of classic fairy tale characters. Given Telltale’s success with The Walking Dead adaption, it’s likely that the initial episodes is going to push me into purchasing the season pass.

Wolf Among Us

Say’s Pick: This week, Roy Guarder’s quest for color in a monochromatic world is my pick. Two Brothers is developed by Ackk Studios, an American indie team who obviously holds a bit of nostalgia for the Game Boy era. Not only does the title provide fundamental RPG and action elements, but it also employs a thought-provoking mechanics which allows players to interact with the world via emoticons, gradually adding color to the game’s palette. With most modern game obsessing on polygon counts and resolution fidelity, it’s comforting to see a title where the game experience is just as important as graphical output.

  1. Is someone buying the Cabela games? Because they always seem to line the shelves of my Tuesday Morning.

  2. Robert, I don’t think I’ve thanked you for your new release info.

I tried to go to Gamespot to get their information. It short it was a total clustherf*ck (see pic)

    • Wow, that’s got to embarrassing when a small site like T-G beat you hand down.

Glad to know that Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Hot Shots Golf for Vita are coming out this week. Now no one can say “The Vita has no games”. 😉

  3. Looks like the burning question is whether to buy Wipeout: Create & Crash at full price or play the Doritos game on Xbox 360 (which is the exact same thing) for free.

    Me? I’ll take free.

  4. Deagle picking The Wolf Among Us: Episode 1 is unexpected. But I don’t see any lolis this week, so it may not be completely unusual.

  5. I have Skylanders Swap Force preordered at Target and some money banked for figures.

  6. Calling my shot right now. Say will pick Goodbye Deponia.

  7. BTW, The PS Blog says Angry Birds Trilogy is coming out for Vita.

  8. Are Tennis and Gold for the Wii U the old NES games?

  9. Valhalla Knights 3 for me this week.

  10. I’m slightly interested in the new Star Wars Pinball tables.

  11. A Pacific Rim game? I though Robert said in the Ac review there wasn’t a PR game.

  12. If Wipeout came with Takeshi’s Castle DLC, I’d be all over it.

  13. Will you be reviewing Skylanders Swap Force?

I’m thinking about picking it up, but before I spend $75 I’d like to get your opinion.
