Robert’s Pick: While Samurai Warriors 4, Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance, and even Fluster Cluck are all worthwhile selections, there are too many exciting title on the horizon to give any of these games a wholehearted recommendation. Next week, Nintendo is delivering a tag-team attack of Bayonetta 2 and Pokémon Art Academy, with 2K bringing Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth to PCs. Soon after, Sunset Overdrive ships to retail, potentially making free time as scarce as mint condition copies of Nintendo World Championships.

Bayonetta 2

Gonçalo’s Pick: While most Platinum fans are eagerly awaiting next week’s release of Bayonetta 2, I’m twiddling my thumbs in excitement for the upcoming Legend of Korra. Platinum is a studio known for its fast-paced quality games and I expect no less from either title.

The show is known for its deep storyline and alluring art-style, both of which I hope to see reproduced in its videogame counterpart. With that said, I question the logic of releasing both Korra and Bayonetta 2 back-to-back.

  1. With MS basically dropping Kinect, I see Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved dropping in price real quick. $19.99 by January 1st.

  2. Chests O’ Booty has quite an interesting name.

  3. Explain this: Gamestop has The Walking Dead: Season Two for PS3 $29.99 OK. But the Walking Dead S2 Season Pass is $14.99. Isn’t this the same thing?

How and why do publishers expect us to know the difference?

  4. Clementine is more of a loli that that girl from SW4.

  5. Basically the Wii U is getting indie game ports six months later. Great business model.

  6. Hopefully we’ll get a Samurai Warriors 4 review this week.

  7. Harmony of Dissonance is one of the better Castlevania games.

  8. I’m curious if anyone bought Warriors Orochi for $5 on PSN.

  9. Kind of a shitty week for games.

  10. The Legend of Korra is a Platinum game, so maybe!

  11. The Walking Dead for me this week.

  12. Shadow Warrior is a great game. Full recommendation.

  13. Samurai Warriors 4 works for me this week. I haven’t played a Warriors game since the second one.

  14. You missed Just Dance 2015. Or what that on purpose? 😉

  15. Legend of Korra is supposed to be pretty awful. Platinum is losing it.

  16. I’m not big on Platinum Games’ style. I love the flare but the combat isn’t my type. That said, I love that Korra’s getting a good game out.

I hear the combat’s fun but it’s still a budget game and it certainly looks the part.

For Korra fans, I hear that the story’s not worth it. It’s more for Platinum game fans than Korra fans really.

    • For me, Platinum can be very hit (Bayonetta, Vanquish) or miss (MadWorld, Anarchy Reigns, and yes, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance). Korra seems like its going to be in the second group.
