Robert’s Pick: After purchasing four different iterations of Final Fantasy X/X-2, I’m growing a bit weary of the remake.  That said, Idea Factory’s Re;Birth revitalization is better than the standard reissue, improving dialog, aesthetics, playability, and adding a bit cohesiveness to the Neptunia series. This week, PS Vita owners will be able to return to an alternative version Gamindustri, where Neptune and the gang find the realm under attack by a group known as the Seven Sages. While the set-up might seem slightly bland, it’s an impetus for a non-stop barrage of industry jokes and leer-inducing and panty shots. PC owners will have to wait until fall for their dose of IF-flavored fan-service.

Gonçalo’s Pick:
There was once a time when 2D run n’ guns were amongst the most popular genres to grace gaming. Amidst the rabid competition, few franchises drew as much envy as SNK’s Metal Slug series. Outside of going to an arcade, the only way to play this game was to spend hundreds of dollars of a Neo-Geo console and its respective cartridge, a luxury few could ever afford. Two decades later, it’s been ported to several system with varying degrees of success, though one can only assume today’s PC hardware will provide players with nothing less than an arcade-perfect conversation.

  1. Whoa. Dat ass.

Idea Factory is really going for broke with Generation. They got my attention.

  2. Why was there next to no hype for J-Stars Victory Vs+? Seems like I should know more about this game.

    • I’m just happy that they’re bring the game stateside.

      • Hopefully, there will be some deals on it. These types of games hit with their audience then tend to drop pretty quick.

  3. You forgot to include Streets of Fury EX which came out today. It also on sale.

  4. Kungfu Master Brandon

Looking forward to fooling around with Celica Ayatsuki Mercury and Lambda-11.

  5. Sequelitus is so bad that I was almost sure that BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Extend was already released here. They are running out of names.

  6. What’s with the G.G games flooding the eShop?

  7. Bought Metal Slug on the iPad for 99 cents. $7.99 seems like a lot.

  8. Combat Cats looks kind of fun. Needs to be in a bundle though.

  9. I need to pick up Re;Birth 3: V Generation. No if, ands, or butts.

  10. Do you think you can create a list of PSN sales? The PS Blog used to but now Grace Chen is getting lazy and won’t do it. The girl is blaming E3 and that ended weeks ago.
