New Game Releases: June 1st-7th, 2017

The next seven days are slated to bring a noteworthy mix of old and new titles across digital marketplaces and store shelves. Beyond a trio of NeoGeo titles, the WipEout Omega Collection bundles WipEout HD, WipEout HD Fury and WipEout 2048 in a single package, while Cladun Returns: This is Sengoku! updates the 2010 PSP fan favorite. But for those looking for experiences that will give their hardware an intense polygon-pushing workout, the release of Tekken 7 and DiRT 4 appear to fit the bill, testing the prowess of fighting and rally racing fans.

Robert’s Pick: While I have Tekken 7 preordered on PC (I can’t resist a fighting at the office, on the train, or with sound muted, in a library), it’s the release of Cladun Returns: This is Sengoku! that has really captured my interest. While it might look like a modest, pixelated Rogue-like, the title has layer after layer of gameplay mechanics. Behind the level grind to help save wayward souls, you can even create the look of your own adventurer or compose your own music. It’s titles with that kind of depth that earn a permanent spot on my Vita memory card.

  1. So I remember the controversy over Lucky Chloe a few years back. Did they put her back int he game for Westerners?

  2. If the NeoGeo porters put the entire Metal Slug series on Switch as one download or cart. I’d buy it in a minute.

  3. I’m slightly interested in DiRT 4, given how good Dirt Rally was. I just hope there’s none of those crazy-hard gymkhana events in this one. Those were always a brick wall for me.

  4. T7 all day tomorrow. Have 3 friends coming to play it with me.
