New Game Releases: April 20th-26th, 2017

With the provocatively named Booty Diver might draw attention, it’s the release of Everything that is poised to really perplex players. From the proclamation “Everything is 20% off on Steam” to “Everything is being released this week”, we expect plenty of befuddling banter to emerge this week. For gamers who need a break from all of the puns, there are a couple of title’s that look like they can offer a refreshing respite, with Puyo Puyo Tetris and Dragon Quest Heroes II making their way to the marketplace.

Robert’s Pick: As any red-blooded Weeaboo-American, I approved of Omega Force bringing its musou mechanics to a world filled with Metal Slimes and Mimics in Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below. This week the sequel drops the longwinded subtitle, but adds a number of role-playing staples, like random battles and towns. Warriors fans need not worry- there’s still plenty of enemy pummeling to be found. But for those who devour each new musou release with maniac desire, Dragon Quest Heroes II sounds like it offers just enough innovation to make the experience worthwhile.

  3. Why is Puyo Puyo Tetris $10 more on the Switch?

  4. “red-blooded Weeaboo-American” is the funniest shit I have read all day.

    Made me spill my drink.

  6. Nice view this week.

  7. I’d love to read your thoughts on Dragon Quest Heroes II. Hopefully that happens before release.
