New Releases 9/27-10/3: Willing to GO Edition

With savage snow flurries spotted in Motorstorm Arctic Edge, and violent rotating twisters in both Tornado Outbreak and The Wizard of Oz: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road, this week’s weather forecast looks exceptionally bleak. Even accessory-maker Psyclone Games is offering a way for virtual fisherman to enjoy the pleasures of bass fishing, without having to endure harsh weather systems, with its optional rod and reel controller. This week, we’ll be enjoying the new releases from climate-controller interiors.

DesertEagle’s Pick: I’m hoping that the PSP Go can renew gamers’ interest for the Sony platform, but having only five new titles for the system’s launch week is disappointing. Still, I’m sure racing fans will find enjoyment within Gran Turismo PSP‘s cornucopia of content- 800 cars, 35 tracks, and countless license tests await.

SeanNOLA’s Pick:  The new releases just keep on coming, without giving us so much as time or room to breathe! Although it is more of a music tool than a game, I am really looking forward to experiencing Timbaland’s foray into the portable universe. I missed Valhalla Knights‘ first incarnation on the PSP, nevertheless I am excited to take a stab at what looks to be a solid Wii RPG.

TideGear’s Pick: I was a fan of Ninja Gaiden Black, but despite my being a young heterosexual male, the “sex sells” insanity of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is bordering on disrespectful to gamers. My pick this week is appropriately wholesome, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.

About Robert Allen

Since being a toddler, Robert Allen has been immersed in video games, anime, and tokusatsu. Currently, his days are spent teaching at two southern California colleges. But his evenings and weekends are filled with STGs, RPGs, and action titles and well at writing for Tech-Gaming since 2007.

  1. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, you are mine.

  2. Kingdom Hearts DS!

  3. Nothing for me this week.

  4. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Gran Turismo. Portable games FTW.

  5. I thought “Black College Football Xperience: The Doug Williams Edition” was a joke at first. Goggling it, it turns out to be a real game.

  6. Not mentioning Undead Knights in your pick of the week makes baby Jesus weep.

  7. Anthony from Rebel FM keeps pimping Dead Space Extraction, so maybe I’ll get it.

  8. I don’t think they’ll sell too many Gos with a launch like that.

  9. Yeah, I’ve been eyeing that one as well. Some are saying it’s OK, other saying it’s great.

  10. I thought Tornado Outbreak was supposed to come out a few weeks ago!

  11. Valhalla Knights: Elder Saga and Wizard of Oz for me this week, if I can afford both.

  12. Where are those girls from? Ninja Gaiden? I thought it was just ninjas.

  13. Anyone see any Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days reviews?

  14. No, there’s girls in it, too.

I’ll probably get Gran Turismo this week.

  15. Is got a 75 from Metacritic right now. Not so good, I would have liked to see better.

  16. Intelligent Zombie

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Undead Knights, a double dose of Tecmo.

  17. Nope, $250 for a smaller screen? Sony is out of their minds. First the $600 PS3 now this.

  18. Is Gran Turismo PSP the same price if you download it?

  19. Where’s Sir Tide’s glorious picks?

  20. The Wizard of Oz: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road isn’t getting much attention. I hear its a decent enough RPG.

  21. What will you guys be reviewing this week?

  22. I honest never heard of Beaterator until SeanNOLA mentioned it. I love those niche music programs. KORG for DS is one of my favorite carts.

  23. 800 cars for GT PSP. NO SHIT? I’m all over that, man.

  24. Walker Texas Rapist

    Will you review this one?

  25. Might have to give Bass Pro Shops: The Strike a look. I loved Dreamcast fishing.

  26. Someone wake him up, please 😉

I’ll be getting Dead Space Extraction

  27. Fishing on a TV screen. I just dont get it.

  28. Isn’t Sony having all their UMD games on the PSN on October 1st? That’s what I heard.

  29. I think they are starting to put the games up on the 1st. I don’t think they’ll flood the PSN with 700 releases on day one.

  30. Adam Milecki - TideGear

    *Wakes up* Hm-wadda-bah?!

    …’Tis up now!

  31. Whats so sexy about Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2?

  32. Its funny you guys are complaining about NGS2. European gamers aren’t even getting the game.

  33. What is Tide’s thoughts on Bayonetta then?

  34. Wait, what’s go on with Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2? Are people mad they replaced the blood with boobs?

  35. Bouncing boobs isn’t insanity by a long shot. I think TideGear is trying to create a bit of controversy, perhaps to boost the numbers.

  36. Much ado about nothing.

Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga for me.

  37. Why use a NGS2 picture, if you guys are going to put it down? You’re getting all Kotaku on us, now.

  38. MotorStorm Arctic Edge for me

  39. PSP preorder will be cancelled. Way to go back on the UMD transfer plans 🙁

  40. GT PSP for me.

  41. I have to agree. If you are bother by a game vote with your wallet and don’t buy it.

  42. I think it’s funny that severed limbs are ok, but bouncing boobies causes a fuss. You Americans are a funny bunch.

  43. I’m totally disappointed with The Go launch. I won’t be picking one up now.
