New Releases 3/22-3/28: Usual Suspects Edition
This week’s new releases bring a dependable cast of gaming characters together: samurai, ninja, monsters, aliens, kittens, and ride-pimper Xzibit all make a appearance. Additionally, Pikachu’s yellow visage will likely adorn DS screens across the U.S. this week. We fail to imagine a day when the rose-cheeked creature is no longer relevant.

DesertEagle’s Pick: I’ve always enjoyed the Command and Conquer games, and Red Alert 3 is no exception; I even liked its gameplay more than Halo Wars. PS3 owners with a passing interest in RTS titles should pick it up. Recent Wii release Tenchu: Shadow Assassins marked a return to form for the franchise, I hope the PSP version doesn’t disappoint and make our inner ninja weep poison tears.
TideGear’s Pick: It’s a bit hard to pick this week. I’m going to have to say Tenchu: Shadow Assassins for PSP. I’ve yet to play the Wii counterpart, but I’m glad DE found it to be a “return to form”. It was much needed! As for Pokemon Platinum, it may be the game that gets me to finally jump back in to the Pokemon universe. I’ve also heard kind words for Stormrise. Unfortunately, RTS games seem to always have to fight against the simplified controls of consoles. Perhaps the PC version will bypass this hurdle.

I happy to see The Last Remnant coming to PC, I hope this signals a trend for S-E.
Not a complete waste, but if the demo is any indication. I’d pay about $20 for it.
