DesertEagle’s Pick: What better way to beat winter’s chill, then curled up with a controller, sniping Helghasts? During last week’s rainstorm, I spent some quality time with Killzone 2, admiring its polish and refined play mechanics. As a fan of the series, I’m also looking forward to the latest edition of Star Ocean, the series is one of my favorite RPGs.
Killzone 2 here I come. I can’t wait until Wednesday!

No good classic gamer would overlook those TWO gems.
I fail to see what the excitement is over Killzone 2. Another FPS, just for Sony fanboys to droll over. Doesn’t seem like it’s all that.

A sequel to a PS1 game about am African-American tank squadron.
It seems for the sequel they got rid of both things that made the game unique. Ever play this DE and TG?
Oooh, them’s fightin’ words but I won’t take it personally. I’m a huuuge fan of retro games, and aware of the Ys games, but I’m not typically a fan of traditional RPGs. (See my above excitement for Hero 30!) DE is more of an RPG guy so maybe he’s just not familiar with them yet?
Actually that appears to be a totally unrelated game with the same name. The prequel to the game seems to be a PC game from 1996 and no, I haven’t played either.
Tide is crazy for not liking Killzone 2. I loved the demo.

I’ve played the Y’s games on the TG-16 and PSP. With so many new games out here, I don’t see myself playing these a third time.
Yes, I owned the original for Saturn and I also played Shellshock: Nam ’67 for the Xbox.
The one you’re thinking of was quite hard; I enjoyed it, but ran into an overly difficult level and subsequently, lost interest.
I’m not ignoring it- I have a conference call with ‘fity’ this week, and a review up soon.
