New Releases 2/15-2/21: Everybody was Street Fightin’ Edition

The buzz at retailers is reaching pinnacle heights, as America is waiting (im)patiently for the return of Ryu and crew. Our local Gamestop claims that all the Collector’s editions have been sold out for weeks, and people have offered to pay over above and beyond the MSRP for a chance to purchase one of the Mad Catz arcade sticks. Perhaps there will be fighting in the streets after all.

DesertEagle’s Pick: As a certified Disgaea nut and platforming aficionado, I’m happy to see that Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? is finally coming out. Watch me geek out uncontrollably if there’s a Laharl cameo. I’ve been playing a bit of Fire Emblem: Shadow Emblem, and while it’s not the finest moment in the series, I’m enjoying a little strategy-RPG action on the go.

TideGear’s Pick: This is a bit awkward. Neither I, nor DE, picked Street Fighter IV this week. I do intend to play it. I imagine I’ll enjoy it. I just don’t tend to love fighting games. My favorite fighting game series is probably Guilty Gear and that’s totally bizarre. Like DE, I must pick Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? this week. An absurd spin-off of an absurd strategy RPG? Yes, please! As for Battle Rage: Mech Conflict, it looks like it could be a blast. We’ll see!
