New Releases 12/7 – 12/13: Goodnight, PS2 Edition

The glory days seem long behind us with a scant thirteen titles released this week. Contrast this with early November, when 70+ titles were released, filling store shelves and emptying our wallets. Perhaps history will recall this week as the Playstation 2’s last stand- many are calling Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 the last great PS2 title.

DesertEagle’s Pick: While most gamers should be rightfully skeptical of my pick of Neopets Puzzle Adventure, consider these points: 1)The game was developed by Infinite Interactive who made the excellent Puzzle Quest. 2) The central game is based on Othello/Reversi, an oddly addictive game. I’ll also be picking up Persona 4, which I’ve heard is one of the best JRPGs in years. I hope it’s the send-off the PS2 deserves.

TideGear’s Pick: While Neopets Puzzle Adventure does sound fun, I must say it creeps me out that the CEO of Neopets is really into Scientology. Regardless, my pick of the week is the PC version of Prince of Persia. After that, I’m a sucker for a good tower defense game so hopefully Defense Grid: The Awakening will be a winner. Lastly, the first Dungeon Maker for PSP wasn’t so great but I’m going to give Dungeon Maker II: The Hidden War a shot.

  19. So you guys don’t watch Tom Cruise movies? b/c he’s into Scientology big time.

  20. Yeah, you shouldn’t really judge a entire companies work based on the religious affiliation of their CEO.

  21. Agreed, that’s a low blow, Tide Gear.

  22. I do. Top Gun still gets played once a year in my house.

I really don’t have anything against Scientologists. It’s the group that bugged me twice this weekend that won’t say the Pledge of Allegiance, honor the flag, and make it an offense to join the military. I found them troubling.

But just as I love my country, I also love it’s freedom to practice any religious beliefs. Come to my door, wake me up and expect a lecture.

  23. Well stated, DE!

  24. I hope none of your readers/subscribers are into Scientology.

  53. Hi,

Online classes allow teens to work at their own pace which gives them a better chance to grasp all the knowledge being showcased in front of them. In addition, they are allowed to work in the comforts off their own bedroom on their own schedule.

    Thanks
    Sofia.
