New Releases 11/1-11/7: Music for the Masses Edition

Congratulations to Cleaner7 for solving last week’s puzzle, and without further ado, here’s our post-Halloween head-scratcher. Make sure to grab a handful of Smarties before calculating.

Take the number of platforms the original Rayman: Raving Rabbids game appeared on, and multiply by the number of Jak and Daxter games that have been officially released in Japan. Now, take that figure and multiply by the number of songs that ship on the U.S. Lego: Rock Band disk. Finally, divide by the number of Need for Speed games that will be available for Wii by the end of this week. Voila- post your answer with your own pick of the week.

DesertEagle’sPick: I might have to forgo the typical routine of eating, sleeping, and social interaction to delve into the depths of Dragon Age Origins this week. If I survive my RPG fast, then I expect the charm of Rabbids Go Home to offer a painless way to re-acclimate back into society.

SeanNOLA’s Pick: Dragon Age‘s TV spots have me very intrigued, but I’ve been a little burnt out on min-maxing lately.  I like the “Harry Potter meets Pele” theme that the team at Ubisoft created for Academy of Champions, it certainly seems more interesting than another “backyard soccer”-type game.

TideGear’s Pick: I’m probably one of the only people on Earth to have noticed WireWay for the DS, but it looks like it could be some silly fun, especially with such a nutty yodeling soundtrack! Hopefully it’s not a one trick pony. As for Rabbids Go Home, what I saw at E3 ’09 seemed to be an interesting variant on the Katamari Damacy concept.

Robert Allen

Since being a toddler, Robert Allen has been immersed in video games, anime, and tokusatsu. Currently, his days are spent teaching at two southern California colleges. But his evenings and weekends are filled with STGs, RPGs, and action titles and well at writing for Tech-Gaming since 2007.

  1. Sucks there’s no picks from Sean and Adam this week. Does that mean they don’t like any of the new releases?

  2. Deagle, please don’t tell me your serious about playing Dragon Age for days straight. That is really dangerous for your health. We love your reviews and dont want anything happening you!

  3. Do you know how the The Splinter Rabbid and Assassin Rabbid costumes are being handled? Is it on disk or via a code?

  4. Thanks for the concern, but I must admit this was a bit of hyperbole.

If I don’t eat regularly, I turn into quite the grouchy beast. I usually can play for thee or fours tops, before getting a bit of exercise or a bite of food.

  5. Congrats! that is the correct answer!

Many might not have realized than only the first two Jax and Daxter gamers were officially released in Japan.

  6. We Wish You A Merry Christmas is a game? Jeez, does everything have to be turn into a videogame?
