Dead Legends and Resident Trailers

RESIDENT EVIL DEGENERATION TRAILER

We thought we had our fill of CGI zombies after seeing the
disappointing, yet record-breaking I Am Legend this weekend. The short verdict:
zombie (and vampire/zombie hybrid) films need to be rated “R”. An intensity that
was carried throughout the two 28 Days Later films, most of George A. Romero’s Dead series,
and even Zack Synder’s Dawn of the Dead remake was missing in Legend. Next at bat is Sony/Capcom with
a completely CGI film, Resident Evil Degeneration. We’re hoping the subtitle is
no way reflects the quality of the RE series.

We’ll wait until we actually hear some dialogue before we drop our gift cards at local retailers. Yes, Sony currently wants this film to go directly to video. It will be released “sometime in 2008.”

Robert Allen

Since being a toddler, Robert Allen has been immersed in video games, anime, and tokusatsu. Currently, his days are spent teaching at two southern California colleges. But his evenings and weekends are filled with STGs, RPGs, and action titles and well at writing for Tech-Gaming since 2007.

  1. Look too good for a STV (straight to video release). Sony must have a reason for a lack of confidence.

  2. UR right, the voices could kill this easily. Hopefully, Sony won’t be stingy on the voice actors.

  3. “Seven Years from Raccoon City”? Do they mean after? Nice Engrish, bad sign for American audiences.

  4. Looks good, I think CGI films will offer filmmakers with a large scope the ability to deliver with a small budget. If nothing else, I buy this to signal Sony, Im willing to try new things.

  5. *Some spoilers for “I Am Legend”. Don’t read if you care about seeing the movie without knowing anything.*

Hey, “I Am Legend” was good…that is until they decided to forget about all the set up with the vampires, have some woman and kid appear out of nowhere and tack on that lame ass Hollywood ending.
