Rob’s pick: Let’s face it, LipTrip ~My Boss Is My Heat Suppressant?!~ isn’t for everyone. Between the messy power dynamics of a supervisor-subordinate interoffice romance and its depiction of sub-genders who go into animalistic form of heat, many would consider it problematic. But oddly, I’m drawn to fiction that pushes at the ethical peripheries and invites us to muse over social taboos. But given that I enjoy yuri romance and adore the look of Chigusa Minori’s character art, I’m really warming up to Heat Suppressant.

While I appreciate a good slap, somehow I’ve never got a chance to play the Rose & Camellia games. This week the collection bundles the four main games as well as the La-Mulana crossover. The only thing that’s missing is the Fata Morgana spin-off. If you don’t mind that, there’s a healthy number of upper-crest smacks to dish out, which is always a good thing.

Ryan’s pick: Spiders overall get a bad rap, and largely I go out of my way to catch them alive and release them outside. But admittedly, there are times when you aren’t expecting them, it’s difficult to suppress the urge to squash them. Luckily, Kill it With Fire 2 allows you to indulge in that feeling as you elaborately and vibrantly vanquish arachnids. This time around spiders have invaded the multiverse, and with this space theme comes space themed weapons. Thematically, I think this one should be fairly lighthearted like the last, so please give this FPS if spiders are on your ex-friends list.

The hololive fangame WOWOWOW KORONE BOX also looks like it could be fun for a quick jaunt. Even if you aren’t familiar with Inugami Korone, the sprites and gameplay in this 2D top-down shooter look pretty well-made for a fan-made game. Likewise, the fan created retro-inspired soundtrack seems to tie everything in pretty well, so I think could be a good addition if you are looking for a quick-fix shooter.

Matt S’ pick (editor, DigitallyDownloaded): When I typed “Hatsumira -from the future undying-” into Google, the first thing I saw was screenshots featuring upskirts, and the second thing I saw was it being listed as a “pornographic game” by FrontWing. I assume that the Switch version will have the excesses of the “pornographic” side of things shaved off, but it’s been a while since I played something with heavy fan service, and damn it, I’m in the mood for that. Also it’ll be good research for my own visual novel (not that it’ll be this kind of game… or will it?)

Once the thirst has been sated, I am looking forward to giving Grounded a whirl. I missed that game on its original release, but the Switch seems like a more natural platform for it anyway, so honey, I’m shrinking the kids!
