Satisfying snowboarding games are a peculiar rarity, with consoles deprived of an exemplary entry since Indie Built’s Amped series allowed Xbox owners to tackle the powdery peaks over a decade ago. This week, Ubisoft is hoping to change that with the release of Steep, which also lets players use skis, a wingsuit, and a paraglider. If hitting the simulated slopes isn’t your thing (or you feel to need to read a review before dropping $60-$80 on the game), then the long awaited The Last Guardian might be worth a look.

Robert’s Pick: Originally announced in 2007, The Last Guardian is finally seeing an oft-delayed, following a difficult development cycle. Early reports from this year’s Tokyo Game Show weren’t exactly glowing, detailing dated visuals and mechanics that weren’t always player friendly. Most likely, the final build will still exhibition some of these issues, but I’m hopeful that Fumito Ueda’s proficiencies will shield the game from mediocrity.

  1. Protip: don’t buy games on day one. Servers can have problems, and even if they don’t the game WILL drop in price.

  2. I remember Advance Wars DS being fun but I wouldn’t pay $10 to replay it. Nintendo needs to bring those prices down or have a sale.

  3. Here’s my complaint with Ubisoft games- they require a constant internet connection. I can’t play them with my set-up. Division was a mess and so was the The Crew.

  4. I’d would say “I hope you review Bethesda Pinball soon” but they probably don’t send out review codes for that.

  5. Super Mario Maker can rot until they patch in a way to share levels with people who aren’t on your friend list.

  6. Remember everyone, Best Buy has the B2G1 free sale this week on X1 and PS4 games.
