New Releases 2/1-2/7: Highway to Bullet Hell Edition
With the exception of a Burnout Paradise PC port, and an downloadable arcade style hockey game, this week belongs to Nintendo. Wii owners can pick from three titles that feature neither forsaken ‘animalz’ nor a brazen attempt at edutainment. While the same can’t be said of this week’s DS line-up, at least owners of Nintendo’s portable can find solace in the quirky Atlus RPG My World, My Way.

Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box
DesertEagle’s Pick: As a shmup fan, I feel compelled to purchase Ultimate Shooting Collection. Sure, my aging reflexes are no match for today’s bullet hell symphonies, but an occasional dose of 2D humiliation is required in this field. While Tenchu hasn’t aged as well, with post-PS1 sequels showing little improvement in presentation and AI, I am hopeful for a meritorious return by the stealthy ninja. Perhaps, Ubisoft will add a bit of Sam Fischer finesse to the proceedings.
TideGear’s Pick: There’s some really promising titles coming out this week! I, too, am hopeful for Tenchu: Shadow Assassins but one must have the caution of a ninja. With the PC version of Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, I’m finally going to hop on the hurdling slow-motion wreckage bandwagon. Ultimate Shooting Collection looks like a generous onslaught of shmup-goodness, so I’m there! My World, My Way may sound like some generic Imagine title but it actually looks like an RPG I can get behind. Lastly, Rygar: The Battle of Argus looks intriguing but I’m not yet convinced the game received the upgrade it needed.

What is Phineeas and Ferb?
Looks just like Transformers. Still I’d lie if I said I wasn’t going to see it opening day.
It’s a 2.5D platformer based on a Disney license. The engine looked pretty smooth; similar to the Spiderman DS games by Vicarious Visions.
