New Releases for the Week of November 13, 2011

From Ezio’s hookblades, Master Chief’s Assault Rifle to Saint’s Row: The Third’s menacing sex toy/baseball bat armament, this week’s new releases bring a wide variety of memorable weaponry. Of course with selections like Get Up and Dance and ABBA You Can Dance, little more than an arsenal of boot- grinding moves are enough to see the final credits roll.

DesertEagle’s Pick: With my calendar likely Skyrim‘ed for the next month, I likely won’t have time for non-essential gaming. As such, Assassin’s Creed Revelations seems like the one title that I must get some stick-time in this week. Between Ezio’s hookblade, 300 types of bombs, and foray into tower defense, Constantinople (not Istanbul) better be ready for me.

BlueSwim’s Pick: Buy Rayman Origins. When I saw the footage of Origins that was released during Ubisoft’s E3 press conference, I knew it was going to be a special game. Sadly, I also know that a lot of people are going to overlook it due to the recent releases of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. I beg you, don’t let this gem drown in the sea of holiday releases.

Samurage’s Pick: Well I was supposed to get Zumba 2 to review but since it hasn’t come in yet, color me Skyrim.  If I have enough time maybe I’ll throw in some Alien Breed 3: Descent and Rayman Origins, which looked wonderful at E3.

SeanNOLA’s pick: Now that Hawkeye has joined the fight, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 might be the closest thing I’ll ever see to a West Coast Avengers reunion special. Granted, I’ll have to substitute Captain America for USAgent, but I’ll take what I can get.

About Robert Allen

Since being a toddler, Robert Allen has been immersed in video games, anime, and tokusatsu. Currently, his days are spent teaching at two southern California colleges. But his evenings and weekends are filled with STGs, RPGs, and action titles and well at writing for Tech-Gaming since 2007.

  4. Ive been hearing nothing but good things about Rayman Origins.

  5. I picked up Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary from NewEgg for $29.99.

  6. Assassin’s Creed Revelations and Halo. woot.

  7. I should know better but I’ve preordered Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. What can I say, my friends and I love fighting games.

  8. Assassin Creed and Cooking Mama 4 (Don’t judge me it’s for the girl)

  9. OMG so many games (eye bulging)

I didn’t know NFS: The Run comes out this week. Might have to get that.

  10. dildo bat FTW.

There’s the link for 360, BTW.

  12. Super Mario 3D Land is the only game I need this week.

  13. If Deagle doesn’t review Dynasty Warriors 7: Xtreme Legends I’ll be shocked.

  14. Wow, there’s a lot of crap with week at wall. Alvin, Zumba, and a Carnival Games knock-off? You guys are killing the industry.

  15. Super Mario 3D Land is getting 9’s and 10’s. So I’m getting it.

  16. Assassin’s Creed Revelations, but for $34.99. I will wait like a true shopping assassin.

  17. Assassin’s Creed Revelations and Halo for me.

  18. I want to get Saint’s Row but the online pass business broke has broke me this year. Anyone know what the Saint’s Row DLC is?

    • THQ has announced the Saints Row “Season Pass”, which will be available side-by-side with the release of the game November 15.

Purchasing the Season Pass for $19.99 will give you access to the Nyte Blayde vampire-themed DLC and three future Saints Row: The Third DLC packs. The pass allows you to save a couple of bucks in the process, to the tune of about 15%. So, what are the future mission packs?

Genkibowl VII (January 2012): Looks like Professor Genki will take over Steelport for some type of “sporting tradition”. If it’s anything like the Professor Genki Reality Climax TV show, it’s going to be incredibly nutty and have little to nothing to do with sports at all.

Gangstas in Space (Winter 2012): Saints! In Space! Expect a sci-fi themed mission pack here… I’m afraid.

The Trouble With Clones (Spring 2012): Copycat killing at its finest

The immediately available bonus Nyte Blayde DLC Pack includes:

The Nyte Blayde Mobile: a blood-red, vampire-hunting sports car
      Altar Boy Outfit
      Bloody Canoness Outfit
      Bloody Canoness Bike

  19. Super Mario 3D Land this Sunday, yeah!

  20. Was Medieval Moves: Deadmund’s Quest the game they showed at E3?

  21. Was Medieval Moves: Deadmund’s Quest the game they showed at E3?

  22. Not too many takers on Rayman Origins? oh noes….

    • Beyond the the demo, I’ve seen next to no marketing for it. I totally forgot it was coming out this week.

  23. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. I can’t wait.

  24. Halo: Anniversary!

  25. Shinobi is coming out this week?

  26. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations and maybe Halo!! Woot!! The wait has been agonizing…

  27. I’ll be picking up Mario 3D.

  28. I looking forward to playing Burgertime: World Tour. Got to run from that egg.

  29. Alien Breed 3: Descent is coming out? I’ll need to grab this one and finish out the trilogy.

  30. Damn I really needed to save some money. Assassin’s Creed and Halo are on my “want” list.

  31. Making Megaman X as DLC in Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 is a kick in the balls. No thanks, Capcom.

  32. Super Mario 3D Land and Skyrim.

  33. Why does it feel like there’s an ABBA or Black Eye Peas game coming out every week?

  34. Besides, Halo, maybe some Saints Row this week. I’ve heard good things about it.

  35. That Rayman screenshot is amazing! XD
