  1. New podcast and my question answered?

    Wooooohooooooo!

  2. Karate man is splitting those 2DS’ in half. Thank you, Karate man.

  3. Downloading now.

Why are you guy advertising Beyond: Two Souls but not reviewing it. Make it happen.

  4. Eric the Red!

    Viva Indieoutlook.

  5. A 2 hour+ show. The podcasting gods have smiled upon us.

Really like Ryan, he fit in well.

  6. Leif Eriksson, Jeremy sounds like a wuss, not being able to handle the game.

  7. I thought the same as Robert, that the 2DS was actually two screens. I assume it was cheaper just to make one.

For anyone that has a 2DS can you see the little grid on the top screen when there’s sunlight around?

  8. I already laughed 3 times and I’m only 20 minutes in. Seems like it’s going to be a good episode.

Also, Indie Outlook and an interview? That’s like free DLC!

Thanks for the hard work, Robert, Say, Blue, Jeremy, Sage, and Ryan!!!!

  9. Technically, it’s two viewing screens. 🙂

I’d love to try Sounddodger out with Kaskade!

  10. I love to hear and see a new podcast. I get sad knowing it’s going to me a month until the next one.

  11. I thought the waterboarding jokes were totally tasteless and pretty funny.

Techno Viking for the Volgarr giveaway!

  12. DUEL SCREENS! Hi-YA!

  13. My only complaint is that I wish Sage., Ryan, and Blue played more recent games. I guess Hatsune Miku and DOA 5 is recent, but I like to hear about stuff about to come out or just out.

    • Part of my problem is that there aren’t very many AAA games that really appeal to me now. They’re all too “flavor-of-the-week”-like. Everyone plays them hardcore for a week or two, talks about them on Twitter, moves on to the next big game and the cycle repeats. The smaller/niche titles, along with releases from my go-to genres, are the only ones that pique my interest anymore. I want to play games that not everyone on Earth is playing.

      • It does seem like it’s one game after another. No one is a few weeks old, that’s it. Everyone has moved onto something else.

      • I wish you’d occasionally revist games. I always want to ask about Jeremy’s MechWarrior league.

  14. You guys say “pantsu” like you’re getting $50 for a mention. 😉

  15. I have a trivia question for you guys (related to the DS)

Whats the largest size cartridge for 3DS games (in MBs)?

    • Crap! If this was for the PS Vita, I’d have this question in-the-bag.

      I’ll take a stab-in-the-dark and say 4GBs/4,000MBs(I think?).

Is this question being contested under “Price Is Right” rules?

      • In megabtyes?

I’ll say 8192, which is 8 GBs. Ive seen some pretty elaborate JRPGs with a a decent amount of voice acting, so I think it’s higher than 4GBs.

  16. Its not downloading from itunes….

  17. I laughed when the usually humble Robert mentioned ‘his favorite website’ and Jeremy throwing it to himself.

  18. You guys should take on another website when Wii Fit U comes out. But everyone has to have a Wii U and the pedometer, which I don’t see happening.

Maybe Robert can walk like he writes reviews.

  19. Good show. Having Indieoutlook and The Bridge interview made it even better.

  20. American ‘anime’ makes about as much sense as Canadian sushi.

  21. I agree with all but the charming part. Too trollish to be called that.

  22. This podcast was a whole lotta Robert (in every segment). I guess that’s not much a bad thing.

    • I think the game impressions were pretty great. The energy Blue, Sage, Jeremy and now Ryan bring is pretty enjoyable. If anything, I think Robert was kind of quiet at the end of that segment – you could hear mostly Jeremy and Ryan.

      • I notice how Robert comes on strong then kind of fades away. He’s a podcasting sprinter now a long-distance talker. Jeremy is the marathon cohost.

  23. Great show!

Just one suggestion, how about a weekly show that’s 45 minutes, instead of a 3 hour one once a month.

    • We tried to do that a few months ago. It ended up being a three-hour show. When we get together, talking for hours on-end just comes naturally. 😀

  24. TideGear got married!

  25. If you think MS marketed Xbox One correctly you guys need to put down the magic mushrooms.

    – TV, TV, TV revealed, then nothing. Will it work with my preexisting cable? Can I get access to internet TV and will it ‘work’ with blackouts and these kind of things? I have no idea.

    – Kinect? As you guys said, it’s a no show. Kotaku said it didn’t really work. That’s not a good sign.

    – Has the average person been able to play the games? No, we’ve seen CG and some Youtube/GT video that does a shit job out of showing 60FPS/1080P footage. Any graphical improvement is lost when using online codecs.

Awful job, really. And a month out. Prepare for massive buyer’s remorse a week after launch. MS better be ready for the backlash.

    • I agree, Clawson. There are a lot of expectations regarding what the Xbox One experience would bring, however not clear at all what they should be.

    • That’s exactly why I’m waiting. Each platform is likely to have problems (or has everyone forgot RROD and the YLOD, failing drives of the original Xbox, DREs on the PS2, etc?) plus there’s maybe two games I want to play at launch.

Sony and MS and done a terrible job of telling people why they need to upgrade? There’s still PS3 and Xbox 360 games coming out. Why should I buy a new system? Why are the new systems better than a PC?

  26. I’m also waiting. I had the opportunity to get in at launch but a webcast infomercial isn’t enough for me to shell out $400 or $500.

If either company want my money they’re going to have to EARN it buy listening to consumers and delivering multiple AAA experiences. Am I acting entitled? I don’t think so. I’d rather think I’m just being an intelligent consumer and not a drone.

  27. Anyone buying a Xbone at launch is a full. When has MS ever delivered a product that worked as promised one day one.

Zune, Kinect, Windows? They all needed patching to be functional.

If you’re buying at launch you are paying to be a beta tester.

  28. pretty good podcast.

I just want to add my two cents as a developer.

The industry is scared of a backlash. After MS unveiled the 360, the blogs and forums riled up people up and public opinion of the Xbox One wasn’t good. MS had to pull the plug on their program because of it. And when Sony scored a few points by responding to MS’s appearance, things changed.

Now, both hardware companies are stepping us the level of secrecy. No one want to get caught with a quote out of context and their pants down. Expect not much to change until launch.

Now, I think the worry is, will these system catch on quick enough. You guys know developers only jump on board once enough systems get sold. If only the hardcore gamers buy a machines…well we have another case of the Vita/Wii U on our hands.

I can’t say much, but I do know the guys at top at nervous and they’re not buying all the cheerleading coming out of the hardware reps.

  29. That could happen if PC manufacturers got their act together. If they get rid of integrated graphics chips and told PC with a decent video card and upgradability, I think more people would get on board.

Also, between rampant piracy and a backlash against server-side protection, I think some developers are frustrated by the PC market.

  30. I can’t wait to watch the XBone bomb.

After the hardcore people bought it, they’re going to have convenience everyone else to spend $500 that they really haven’t explained. Oh and by that time the holiday season will be over. And don’t forgot most Americans are still hurting from the economy. Lets see how easy it will be for them..

  31. At first I didn’t quite understand what you were talking about when you were going over Soundodger+, talking about balance and stuff.

Long story short, I bought the game because I like AdultSwim’s stuff, and now I TOTALLY get it.

Dodging stuff is fun and all, but the guy is right, there’s needs to be something more. Its fun in short bursts, but I don’t play for more than 4 songs because just moving out of the way gets a little old.

Otherwise, it’s a great game and people should check it out, especially if you’re into music.

    • I must have you know that I just read this comment because I just got an email with the direct link along a “Look at this” from the boss, lol.

I will continue to politely disagree, I believe the experience itself comes from the engaging of the music, I think a game can be capable of holding its own ground without having action elements to provide. However, as it is, I don’t see it integrating well with what the concept of the game is, having nothing but % achievements and linear simple movements and interactions is exactly what makes the game for me. I can concentrate on the music which ideally that’s what Soundodger+ brings to the table (unlike the free version) is that it provides you a platform to enjoy your favorite music with a different new experience – as a simple game.

Maybe in the future Studio Bean could venture into other Soundodger game proposal, the same idea yet including other interactions with the elements – your pew pew funs :p but I admit it may entail more than just gathering %’s to justify the extra elements, kind of like creating a whole new game I’d say.

  32. Shovel Knight sounds cool.

    oh and Hagar the Horrible!

  33. I can understand that. Just for me, it was a bit too simple.

Yes, I do like those ‘pew pew’ games.

  34. I must have you know that I just read this comment because I just got an email with the direct link along a “Look at this” from the boss, lol.

    Douchy.

  35. Also its dual screens because they are separated by plastic.

  36. You can demo Xbone. Major Nelson and company are doing a MS store tour. Don’t know if they’re selling black t-shirts while on tour.

  37. Waffles for Supper

Was the podcast canceled? No new show in 2 months?!?

  38. Merry Christmas everyone!

  39. Happy holidays!!!

  40. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everybody! Thanks for sending kind wishes our way. 😀

  41. WE’RE BACK! A new episode was recorded this evening. Get hyped!
