Etrian Odyssey Untold The Millennium Girl (2)

With the next generation of consoles looming, it’s Nintendo’s stalwart stereoscopic system that’s getting this week’s share of software. Between Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl, Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi, and Rune Factory 4, the 3DS is getting a healthy selection of role-playing games (along with additional entries in the distressingly prolific Let’s Ride and Paw & Claws franchises). For now-gen supporters things are a bit less fruitful, with NBA 2K14 serving as the week’s only retail release.

Robert’s Pick: Patton the pun, but you can be Sherman I’ll be trying out World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition this week. Beyond Wargaming.net’s tracked and turreted MMO, I’ve been becoming increasingly bewitched by Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl’s charms. Looking absolutely stunning on the 3DS, the franchise’s combination of cartography and old-fashioned dungeon crawling has me smitten once more.

  1. No offense, but Etrian Odyssey Untold looks like a Robert game.

    • So did Sweet Fuse, but I couldn’t convince him to play it, and it was ACTUALLY KINDA GOOD.

      • Wait? There’s a quirky little Japanese game that he wouldn’t play?

This new found self-control isn’t a good sign.

Anyway, I was a little curious about Sweet Fuse, will you be writing a review?

      • It’s officially Freaky Friday, when Sean likes Sweet Fuse and Robert won’t play it.

Maybe he thought you said “Fuse” and didn’t hear the Sweet part.

  2. Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi didn’t come out last week? I seem to remember hearing it was released.

  3. I’ll give World of Tanks a spin. 60 million gamers can’t be wrong!

  4. So, Deagle, you’re playing Etrian Odyssey Untold AND Disgaea D2? So, so jealous right now.

  5. Etrian Odyssey Untold for me this week. Cartridge version.

  6. I’m curious about Rain, but not $15 curious.

  7. Hopefully, we will see a Rune Factory 4 review this week.

  8. Crappy week if you ask me.

  9. Etrian Odyssey Untold for me this week.

  10. NBA 2K14.

I’ve been getting this game every year since it came out on the Dreamcast.

  11. Second the rf4 review. Been on the fence with buying a 3ds. The rpgs are just too good. Now if only they’ll announce mh4 localization….

  12. Youre killing me with those bad puns, bro.

  13. Wheres Says pick? Wheres Indie Outlook? Lets step it up! 😉

    • I had a pick, it’s just that it got pushed back to October 🙁

      • So…what was it?!?!

        • I must say you guys are far too damn nice to me, sometimes. I had picked Path of Exile for PC, but they emailed the boss that same friday to let us know they are pushing the relase date for about 3 more weeks.

On the bright side, it’s more time for their open beta – http://www.pathofexile.com

          • …and Indie Outlook? What happened last show? I expected to hear it and it just ended.

            🙁

          • Aww, I seriously believed nobody cared for Indie Outlook, and you guys today are making me go all warm and fuzzy and stuff!

The truth is that week was insanely busy and he just wanted to push the new podcast out. We had everything to record, the games lined up and even a giveaway! But time was very unforgiving.

We are taking this time to brainstorm a bit, so hopefully there are some good news for Indie Outlook coming soon (must include doodle for this http://i42.tinypic.com/zthz00.jpg, sorry boss).

I usually post all these crappy doodles on twitter. Here’s another that became very popular over the weekend!

          • Attack on Titan!!!!

          • Good one, Mamoru.

So there’s Jeremy, Sage, Sean, and Robert? Whose the first guy on the left, Blue?

          • From left to right – That’s DGo (we’ve talked about him on the podcast before), Jeremy with his super happy face, me, Eric and then Robert.
