New Releases for the Week of June 28th-July 4th, 2013

Trackmania 2 Valley

This week, Nintendo’s eShop dominates the new release schedule, releasing eight games for digital distribution. From Game Gear titles such as Sonic Labyrinth and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 to original works such as G. Rev-developed shmup Kokuga, the publisher seems determined to separate 3DS owners from their disposable income. The one money-saving deal for the stereoscopic set may be Urban Trial Freestyle, which will be offered for 5.59 until July 4, 2013, 9:00am PST, urging players to get their wheels (and styluses) in motion.

Trackmania 2: Valley

Robert’s Pick: Just a short time after TrackMania 2: Stadium’s release, developer Nadeo isn’t resting on their laurels. This week marks the unveiling of Trackmania 2: Valley, which brings a 65 track campaign, rally-style racing, along with the course editor that series devotees have come to expect. As an admitted obsessive-compulsive preoccupied with earning gold medals, I have a feeling they’ll be an outpouring of obscenities emanating from my office. Trackmania, I just can’t quit you.

SeanNOLA’s Pick: Cars, CoD DLC and poker this week? Seems like a good time to recommend a subscription to PS+. Why settle for Spelunker when you could be playing Uncharted 3, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and Saints Row the Third?

  1. You know I really need to see what the Trackmania fuss is about. Where’s the best place to start?

    • Almost anywhere. The games are similar, but the graphics have got better over the years. IMO, the games are worth every penny and they’re reasonably priced.

  2. Was Urban Trial Freestyle the game that Jeremy talk about? The Trials HD ripoff?

  3. Kokuga has me slightly interested, but that $15 price.

I hope you review it, DEagle. Or just tell me thumbs up/down.

  4. They want $8 for the old SNES version of Vegas Stakes? C’mon Nintendo, make the offer interesting. I bet they’d sell twice as many at $5.

  5. Now, PS3/Vita releases posted?

    I’ve been fooled. 🙁

  6. I await the day where I can get the Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition as part of a bundle pack.

  7. Too bad the VC games are the Game Gear version and not the Genesis ones. I bet they’re resell the Gene ones in the future.

  8. Nothing for me this week.

  9. Why can’t it be Spelunky instead of Spelunker?

  10. CastleStorm sounded pretty cool for the 360, glad to see Zen isn’t ignoring Stream.

  11. I get a chuckle out of the comments. Man, everyone is trying to get a deal. Does ANYONE pay full price?

  12. You guys should choose a reader pick of the week. Maybe we can send them in and you’ll post the best one.

  13. Midnight Beatdown

Picked up Urban Trial Freestyle. It’s actually pretty good and a lot like Trials for the 3DS.

  14. Wait, WTF is Sonic Labyrinth? I thought I played every Sonic game there is. Now, you’re telling me I’m incomplete. YOUBASTARDS!
