Mahjong Pretty Girls Battle School Girls Edition

With developers and publishers resting and recuperating after E3, you might think this week might be light on new game releases. Yet, there are a number of notable titles showing up on store shelves and digital storefronts across the next seven days- from Batman: Arkham Knight, Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward, and even two remastered entries in the Devil May Cry franchise.

Robert’s Pick: While the plotline of Batman: Arkham Knight has the Caped Crusader squaring off against Squarecrow, the game’s biggest battle might be the struggle against stagnancy. Like many other tent-pole franchises, Warner Brothers has revisited Akham with unapologetic frequently, delivering not only a quintet of console and portable-based titles, but two mobile tie-ins as well. Mercifully, The Bat’s larger armory of apparatuses, bolstered combat, more open structure, and appearance on now-gen systems might make the Knight worthy of a pick-up. But probably the game’s biggest draw is the emergence of the Batmobile, a vehicle which pushes Wayne’s no-kill rule, permitting players to use a Vulcan gun and missile to take down baddies with almost, but not quite lethal, force.

Batman Arkham Knight
Gonçalo’s Pick: After a lull that lasted nearly two decades, the Caped Crusader made his grand return via the acclaimed Batman: Arkham Asylum which was followed by an equally good sequel. Having re-invigorated DC Comics’ cherished character in the gaming world, it was only a matter of time until the dark knight jumped onto newer generation systems. Despite having few titles under their belt, Rocksteady Studios carries an enviable gaming pedigree, and given the freedom provided by more powerful hardware there’s a good chance Batman: Arkham Knight will deliver yet another high quality experience.

  1. Good lord Bruce Campbell, there’s a farming game that comes out every week. Is this what out of work farmers do to pass the time now?

  2. I like the DMC series, but not enough to buy two separate games. Someone should have included 4 along with the new dmc.

  3. Finally we get iOS new releases!

  4. Using Mahjong Pretty Girls Battle : School Girls is kind of clickbaity.

  5. Art Academy for Wii U is coming out this week? Don’t see it on the eShop.

  6. I could have sword thaT DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition was already out. I know I’ve seen the box somewhere.

  7. No need to be skeptical of Batman: Arkham Knight . It’s been getting great scores from all the big sites.

  8. As a big fan of the series, I might have to get Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. Just wish there was cross-buy with the 3DS version. Oh, Nintendo…

  9. I have Arkham Knight preloaded on Steam. BTW GMG has the best price out there. Too bad they were banned from Reddit. I almost missed hearing about the deal.
