New Game Releases: December 7th-13th, 2017

One year ago, many were uncertain if the Nintendo Switch would be successful- especially after the middling sales for the Wii U. But now, the hybrid might be the hottest device around, ushering in a plethora of titles for the system. Fortunately, there are plenty of other remarkable titles for owners of other hardware, from high definition remasters of Ōkami and Tokyo Xanadu to a tag-team fighter based on the Umineko When They Cry franchise.

Robert’s Pick: Last July, Tokyo Xanadu was released on Vita, bringing another great Falcom action-role-playing game to Sony’s portable. This week, Tokyo Xanadu eX+ arrived on PS4 and PC, applying an ample amount of sheen. From sharpening all the environmental details to Morimiya City to endowing the game with a rock solid, sixty frame-per-second framerate, the reissue delivers the expected visual upgrade. But just as importantly, the game offers plenty of other amendments, from a fleshed-out storyline to new post-game content. While I can vouch for the PlayStation 4 iteration, the PC version seems to be in good hands, with Ghostlight at the helm.

    and poor Xbox One….

  3. Red Game Without a Great Name sounds like hipster trash hoping to cash in on the Switch craze.

  4. Nothing for me for the rest of 2017.

  5. So, Tokyo Xanadu eX+ review this week?

  6. Night in the Woods: Weird Autumn Edition might be the rapiest title for a game ever.
