New Game Releases: November 23rd-29th, 2017

With PlayStation VR systems discounted for Black Friday/Cyber Monday, it’s great to see new titles for the platform. This week’s Sony virtual reality peripheral gets two new games, Radial-G and VR Karts, ushering in double dose of racing thrills. But once again, it’s the Nintendo Switch with the mightiest lineup of high-profile titles, with a pair of Resident Evil: Revelations games, Worms, and re-releases of Mario + Ribbids Kingdom Battle and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to tantalize new owners of the hybrid system.

Robert’s Pick: While there’s a few tempting titles this week, I’d advise Switch owning role-playing fans to squirrel away any money for next week’s release of Xenoblade Chronicles 2. In its prime, the mighty PS Vita gave gamers quite a few exemplary role-playing experiences, with titles like Persona 4 Golden, Tales of Hearts R, and The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel. The release of Chronicles 2 is poised to up the stakes, offering an accessible, open-world adventure that earned praise when it was shown as Gamescom last August. I know I’ll be taking the day off to bask in the sequel, with power banks ready to marathon Monolith Soft’s latest.

About Robert Allen

Since being a toddler, Robert Allen has been immersed in video games, anime, and tokusatsu. Currently, his days are spent teaching at two southern California colleges. But his evenings and weekends are filled with STGs, RPGs, and action titles and well at writing for Tech-Gaming since 2007.

  1. I’m surprised that there are still Wii U games coming out. Good on Nintendo for not just dropping the system.

  2. Could Sony think of a more generic title than “VR Karts”?

It sounds like an indie Steam game that seeks for $1.99

  3. Aces of the Luftwaffe – Squadron is a shmup where you shoot nazis. Desert, you need to review it please

  4. Happy Black Friday aka the beginning of weak ass new releases for a few months.

  5. I could have sworn that Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney came out YEARS ago. I have a physical copy somewhere.

  6. A week full of hot garbage.

  7. Portal Knights is about $12 on other systems. Damn Switch tax.

  8. I’m seeing Explorer’s Edition for $39.99.

I should have waited a few weeks.

  9. Cicadas review please. It’s been awhile since you reviewed a VN.
