E for All: THQ’s Offerings

Frontlines: Fuel of War Poised for a February-March 2008 release, to distance itself from rival Call of Duty 4 comes this FPS. Using the Unreal 3 engine, and being developed by veterans of the Desert Combat series, the game features a war between the Western Coalition (The U.S. and Western Europe) and The Red Star Alliance (China/Russia). The game features a robust single player game (THQ reps wouldn’t comment on it’s length), and 32 user support for multiplayer. The demo at E for All looked nearly finished with a 30 fps framerate and no noticeable lag. (360/PS3/PC)

MX vs. ATV Untamed THQ’s latest entry into the ATV/Motocross environment comes from longtime developer Rainbow, maker of the ATV Offroad series. Due for a December release, the game looks like a high-definition version of it’s last release, MX vx. ATV Untamed. As expected the framerate was steady; and one small graphic effect impressed- the game used a filter for background blur, while maintaining a clear foreground. (360/PS3)

Destroy All Humans: Big Willy Unleashed After annihilating the 50’s, and 60’s Crypto is back to wreck havoc on the disco decade. Pandemic is no longer producing, leaving the task for Locomotive games, which is rising from the ashes of Pacific Coast Power and Light. Only the Wii version was displayed which looked like a port from the previous incarnations. Expect Crypto to invade every platform under the sun, this time in a mech that looks very similar to the Bob’s Big Boy mascot. (360/PS3/Wii/PS2/PSP)
